Child Safe Policy.

Portland Baptist Church is committed to promoting and protecting the interests and safety of children. We have a zero tolerance for child abuse.
Every leader is responsible for the care and protection of children and reporting information about child abuse.
The Deaconate has the responsibility for ensuring that appropriate systems are in place so as to provide the children of the church with a safe environment.
The Deaconate has the responsibility for ensuring the Child Safety Code of Conduct is adhered to by those working with children of the church.
The Deaconate has the responsibility for ensuring a Child Safe culture is embedded into the life of the church.
Child safety will be promoted at all times.
All leaders are expected to watch for and report any situations where more could be done to protect children.
All leaders are expected to be aware of and abide by the Child Safe Code of Conduct.
Those working with children in the life of the church will only do so with the endorsement of the Deacons
